Sunshine Queer Center and South Rainbow Street No.6 can reach beyond basic services and extend into more people's lives and communities because of our volunteers. For a long time, we have been dedicated to LGBTQ+ equality, mental health, community companionship, and promoting friendly healthcare. Volunteers are the essential strength that brings these values to life. Whether guiding and assisting at events, offering administrative and logistics support, or engaging in outreach and community interactions, volunteers play a key role. Your involvement could be the key to a successful event, or the beginning of someone feeling understood and supported.
Here, volunteering is not a one-way street. You are a partner learning, thinking, and taking action alongside us. We value safety, respect, and diversity. We provide clear task assignments, necessary training, and ongoing support so every volunteer can serve in a safe environment and find a suitable role based on their time, skills, and interests. If you care about LGBTQ+ issues, social justice, or simply want to do a little more for the community, we warmly welcome you to get to know us. You do not need to have everything figured out from the start, nor do you need a specific background. As long as you are willing to try and step closer, we are happy to explore the journey with you.
We invite you to chat with us first to learn about the work happening at Sunshine Queer Center and South Rainbow Street No.6, and to give us a chance to hear your thoughts. Let's bring friendliness and professionalism into the community together, and keep moving forward toward LGBTQ+ rights and a more inclusive society.
